Anyone can learn to use a Mac. If you are completely new to using computers, new to the Mac, or simply
want to learn more about the programs you are already using, I can help.
I have extensive professional experience using many varieties of Apple and Mac software.
Also, I tutor elementary school children and college-age adults how to use Macintosh computers.
I can teach anyone how to use a Mac so that he or she feels comfortable and confident
using a computer.
My personal computer history...
I've got 25 years' experience on Apple computers starting way back with an Apple ][ that I
used in a computer class I took in high school. After learning to program that
computer, I bought an
Apple ][+
of my own in 1981. With that computer I wrote commercial graphics software
as well as software for the newly-established computer graphics department at Orange Coast College.
My first Macintosh was an original
Macintosh SE
into which I installed a 30mhz processor upgrade card. I used that primarily for MIDI sequencing work
at my recording studio. My next Mac was a
Power Mac 6100
that I was able to install an AudioMedia II card into. This was a fairly tricky process since it was not
designed to accept add-on Nubus cards. I used that machine for graphic design, page layout, and audio
recording work. For a period I also owned a
Power Mac 8100
that gave me a little more speed an expandability. My next machine was a beige
G3 tower
that was quite a workhorse. Originally it ran at 333MHz but after several upgrades, that G3 ran a 500MHz
processor, all of which I personally installed. My present computer is a
Mac G4
with dual 1GHz processors. This has been a great computer that has smoothly run both OS 9 and OS X.
And by the way, my daughter has an original 1998 bondi blue
iMac
that is still going strong.
